The school is conscious that each pupil has a unique contribution to make to society and has potential that requires to be identified and encouraged. To this end assessment is designed to identify skills and competences and allow them to develop as fully as possible.
Continuous assessment takes place within each subject. That is to say that an ongoing record of progress for each pupil is maintained by the teacher during each term. Within this record is information on particular abilities as well as information about progress within the subject.
Examinations are held in certain subjects in December and May. These examinations are necessary preparation for public examinations which pupils will eventually be involved in. The results form part of the ongoing assessment process.
