S1-S3
Young people will study either Italian or French in S1-S3.
The course follows a communicative approach to language learning, seeking to equip young people with the skills required to confidently engage with people from a country where the foreign language studied is spoken. Furthermore, a strong emphasis is placed upon developing the pupils’ knowledge and appreciation of the cultural diversity of those living in a country where the foreign language studied is spoken.
Our Broad General Education course will consider themes of Language and Society, Learning in Context and Language for Employment.
Learners will work across the curriculum, taking part in a number of interdisciplinary projects in order to deepen and develop cultural awareness and foreign language skills.
