S4-S6   SENIOR PHASE
 
Higher Art & Design and the New National Qualification 4 and 5, will offers the Development of Skills .It will offer its Students flexibility, it provides more time for learning, offers more focus on skills and applying learning, and scope for personalisation and choice.
 
In these Courses, and its component Units, there is an emphasis on skills development and the application of skills. These Courses provides learners with opportunities to continue to acquire and develop the attributes and capabilities of the four capacities, as well as skills for learning, skills, for life and skills for work.
 
All our Courses provide opportunities for learners to develop breadth, challenge, application and progression. In these Courses, learners are encouraged to exercise imagination and creativity Our Courses allows learners to broaden and deepen their skills and knowledge of art and design practice, providing opportunities to further acquire and develop the attributes and capabilities of the four capacities, including: creativity, develop important skills, attitudes and aptitudes.
 
 
Learning in these Courses will include active involvement in creative activities in expressive and design contexts, and raising learners’ critical understanding of the social and cultural factors influencing art and design practice These Courses will help learners to develop important skills, attitudes and attributes related to art and design, and skills that are transferable to other contexts, or subjects.
 
The New National Qualification at 4, 5 and 6, will offers the Development of Skills. In Support of these courses a programme units will be developed that will look at Skills for Learning, Skills for Life and Skills for Work.  With this, there will be, the development of courses of study that will link Art &Design with other subjects i.e. The Creative Industries Course.
   
Art & Design Offers a Real and Relevant Course of study from S1 to S6 .Courses Articulate with routes towards qualifications and to the world of Work. All courses offer Progression towards each of our children’s’ God Given Talents. Art & Design offers our children and our young people the Challenge and the Enjoyment of Education. Art & Design offers Personalisation and Choice. It teaches Creativity and Depth of Study. It prepares our young people for Life and the World of Work.
